Section for the 19th and 20th centuries

The section consists of six editors who prepare all biographical entries on the historical figures of the 19th and 20th centuries except for the representatives of fine arts, architecture, literature, theatre and film. The section is divided into two teams:

1. The 19th century: Elżbieta Orman (before 1850 and, additionally, the entries on 19th- and 20th-century musicians) and Agata Barzycka-Paździor (after 1850).

2. The 20th century: Tomasz Latos (law, politics, humanities), Mariusz Ryńca (sport, tourism, scouting, clergy), Anna Wiekluk-Marianowska (the military, political party activists), Stanisław T. Sroka (pure and natural sciences, medicine).

The organisation of work reflects the significant number of entries for the representatives of the above-mentioned groups of public figures; however, all editors are at times also involved in work beyond the confines of their respective specialisations or dealing with spheres of public life other than those listed above.
