For Authors

The cooperation between authors and IH PAN Press is based on ethical principles, as well as the rights and obligations of the Press and the Author (or Editor).

1. The Publishing House keeps the texts submitted for publication confidential; in particular it undertakes not to disclose them in any form or part to persons other than those who participate in the qualification and review procedure and in editorial work and preparation for print.

2. The decision to start editing texts submitted for publication and preparing them for print is made only through the qualification procedure based on the preliminary assessment of the Publishing Committee, two reviews and the decision of the Director of the Institute (see here).

3. As regards collective volumes, the Press has the right to demand from the Editor permission to withdraw from publication of parts of the text that have been negatively evaluated by the Publishing Committee and/or have received negative reviews.

4. The author is obliged to submit to the Press the text prepared in compliance with the guidelines required by IH PAN Press. Failure to comply with this requirement results in the Publishing Committee rejecting the text before sending it for review.

5. The Press guarantees the highest standards of competence and diligence in the editorial and typographic preparation of texts for publication.

6. The Press has the right to withdraw the submitted work from publication at any stage of the editorial process in the event of discovery of plagiarism, unreliability or forgery of research, gross errors and deficiencies, or violation of editorial ethics.

7. The author is obliged to supply the illustrative, cartographic and all other material of someone else’s authorship and property with a statement confirming the right to reproduce it.

8. The publication of the text has as its legal basis a contract for the publication of the work by the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences, concluded by the Author with the Director of the Institute.
