Current Themes and Methods in Intellectual History

A Workshop for Graduate and Master students in History and Literature

ORGANISED BY: the research group Tacitism: the secularisation of the west, 16th-18^th centuries led by dr Jan Waszink, IH PAN Warszawa

This is a workshop about currents debates and approaches in intellectual history. The participants will be grouped in discussion panels led by senior scholars from the wide field of intellectual history and history of political thought. In the sessions, each participant will make a short presentation (10 min. max) in which they will respond to an article proposed by the panel chair, and connect it with their own research project. After the presentations there will be response and discussion led by the panel chair. The workshop will be an occasion to meet up with fellow researchers working in related fields and with some influential international researchers.

What is expected of the participants?

• register before 15 September 2022 to the address: alaskowska@ihpanstary.aionline.dev (send also consent to the processing of your personal data);
• choose one article from the list that we send you, and inform us which article you have chosen;
• prepare a short presentation (10 min. max) in which you relate the article to your own research project and finish with a question for the debate;
• present your talk and question and take part in the discussion on 29–30 September.
